Worlds 2026 knockouts open with Top Esports vs Invictus Gaming — and the perfect Pick'Em is already gone
Top Esports meet Invictus Gaming in Allen on Tuesday to open the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals.

Worlds 2026 reaches the knockout stage in Allen
The waiting is over. After two days without matches, the League of Legends World Championship 2026 resumes on Tuesday, November 3, at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, where Top Esports meet Invictus Gaming in the first quarterfinal. The series starts at 5 p.m. ET, is a best of five, and is single elimination: the winner reaches the semifinals, and the loser goes home.
It is an all-Chinese opener. Both teams come from the LPL, so one is certain to reach the semifinals, while the other leaves in the first knockout round. There is no second chance for a slow start.
The rest of the round follows one series per day. Gen.G face LYON on Wednesday, November 4; Dplus KIA meet Bilibili Gaming on Thursday, November 5; and defending champions T1 play Karmine Corp on Friday, November 6. The semifinals are on November 7 and 8, also in Allen, before the Grand Final on Saturday, November 14, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The prize pool is $5 million, with $1 million for the champions.
How the eight quarterfinalists got here

The Swiss stage finished on Saturday, October 31, after five rounds in which three wins sent a team through and three losses eliminated it. Gen.G and Dplus KIA were the only unbeaten teams, at 3-0. T1, Invictus Gaming and Top Esports followed at 3-1. The final three places went to Karmine Corp, LYON and Bilibili Gaming, all at 3-2.
The final day decided everything. Karmine Corp beat Movistar KOI 2-0, becoming the only European team left and the only Play-In team to reach the quarterfinals. LYON then reverse-swept LOS, losing the first game before winning the next two for a 2-1 victory. Bilibili Gaming closed the day by sweeping Hanwha Life Esports 2-0, ending the run of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational champions.
The draw paired the two 3-0 teams against 3-2 teams and drew the rest against each other, giving Gen.G against LYON, Dplus KIA against Bilibili Gaming, T1 against Karmine Corp and Top Esports against Invictus Gaming. No rule kept teams from the same league apart, which is why the opener is an all-LPL affair.
The bracket balance is striking. The LCK and LPL each have three teams left, joined by one from the LEC and one from the LCS. There is no Brazilian or Asia-Pacific team remaining. For LYON, the achievement is already historic: they are reported as the first Latin American team to reach a Worlds quarterfinal. They meet Gen.G again after losing 2-1 to them in the Swiss stage.
The other three quarterfinals

Wednesday's Gen.G against LYON match looks, on paper, like the most one-sided series of the round: Gen.G were unbeaten in the Swiss stage, while LYON needed all five rounds and a final-day comeback. Yet LYON need only steal an early game to change the pressure.
Thursday brings Dplus KIA against Bilibili Gaming. Dplus KIA were perfect in the Swiss stage; Bilibili Gaming survived the longer road, finishing 3-2 and eliminating Hanwha Life Esports on the last day, with Knight central to that closing win.
Friday closes the round with T1, winners of the last three World Championships, against Karmine Corp, who started in the Play-In stage and reached the knockouts at their first Worlds.
The perfect Pick'Em is already gone
Away from the stage, a second story was settled before the first quarterfinal game began. No participant in the Worlds 2026 Pick'Em can now finish with a perfect score, so the prize of seven Ultimate skins will go unclaimed.
The leader, known as ルーニ, sits on 155 of a possible 160 points so far: 30 of 35 from the Play-In stage and every available point from the Swiss stage. The single miss was backing Cloud9, who lost 3-1 to FURIA in the Play-In lower-bracket semifinal on October 16. That cost five points, exactly the margin that now makes perfection impossible.
Pick'Em offers 320 points in total: 35 from the Play-In, 125 from the Swiss stage and 160 from the knockout stage. Even with every knockout prediction correct, the leader's maximum final total is 315. According to independent tracking cited in reports on November 3, there were 1,980,751 entries, and none had a perfect record. Four players share second place on 150 points.
Other rewards remain in play: the top 5,000 finishers can earn the True Damage Know My Name Yasuo skin, while players in the top 25 percent can receive an emote and those in the top 50 percent an icon. The final leaderboard will be calculated after the Grand Final.
That is Tuesday's strange double feeling in Allen. The trophy race is wide open, with eight teams standing and $1 million waiting in Brooklyn. The prediction race already has its answer: nobody can finish perfect. The games now take over, starting with Top Esports against Invictus Gaming.
