FUT, Vitality and BetBoom sweep into Bucharest 2-0 pool as Spirit bounce back

Day two of PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 belonged to the sweep. On Sunday, 25 October, four Swiss Round 2 series in Bucharest were already decided in straight maps by the evening: FUT Esports, Team Vitality and BetBoom Team joined the 2-0 pool, and Team Spirit steadied itself at 1-1. The other four Round 2 fixtures — G2 against Aurora, MOUZ against 9z Team, FURIA against Natus Vincere and Legacy against DENDELE — were still under way or yet to start as this edition was prepared.

A 2-0 record in Swiss is a pool position, not a playoff berth. That distinction matters in Bucharest, where three wins are needed to reach the playoffs and three losses mean elimination. A 2-0 team still needs one more series win, a 1-1 team still has room to recover, and a 0-2 team — as TYLOO now are — is one loss from going home.

The headline performance came from FUT Esports, who beat Team Liquid 2-0 in the 1-0 pool. FUT took Liquid's own Cache pick 13-5, leading 9-3 at half-time, then closed out their own Dust2 pick 13-9, leading 8-4 at half-time before a 5-5 second half. The result moves FUT to 2-0 and drops Liquid, who had opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over MOUZ, to 1-1. It was FUT's second consecutive sweep, following their opening win over TYLOO.

Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko was the difference. The Ukrainian rifler finished the Liquid series with a 1.98 rating, 43 kills against 19 deaths, 110.8 average damage per round and 85.0 percent KAST. Álvaro "SunPayus" García was next for FUT at 1.28, while Liquid's best-rated player, Keith "NAF" Markovic, finished at 1.06. On Cache, dem0n posted a 20-6 map with a 2.15 rating, including a 16-3 first half, and he added 23 kills at a 1.84 rating on Dust2 as FUT held off Liquid's late push from 11-9. Liquid won both pistol rounds on Cache but could not turn them into sustained rounds.

Team Vitality produced the day's most dramatic turnaround, easing past The MongolZ 2-0 into the 2-0 pool. The MongolZ, who had beaten Aurora 2-1 on day one, led 5-0 on their Inferno pick before Vitality won ten straight rounds to take it 13-6. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut sparked the revival with back-to-back quad-kills, multi-kills in four consecutive rounds and a 1v2 clutch, finishing the series at a 1.98 rating. On Vitality's Cache pick, the French side recovered from 2-0 down to win 13-3, with ZywOo posting a 2.10 rating on the map and Shahar "flameZ" Shushan rampant on the attack. The MongolZ drop to 1-1.

BetBoom Team also moved to 2-0, beating Nemiga 2-0 in the 1-0 pool, 13-3 on Anubis and 13-11 on Mirage. BetBoom won the first six rounds on Anubis, led 9-3 at the break and swept the second half, while Mirage required a comeback from 9-5 down after the switch before BetBoom took the final three rounds from 11-10. Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko led BetBoom at a 1.66 rating with 43 kills, and Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov added a 1.62 rating. The win follows BetBoom's opening-day upset of Spirit. Nemiga, who had swept Legacy in their opener, fall to 1-1.

Spirit's day was about recovery. Beaten 2-1 by BetBoom on day one — Spirit won Anubis 13-10 before BetBoom took Ancient 13-3 and Mirage 16-14 — Spirit bounced back by beating TYLOO 2-0 in the 0-1 pool, 13-5 on Mirage and 13-3 on Anubis. Spirit led 8-4 on TYLOO's Mirage pick and conceded only one round in the second half, then gave up just three rounds in the first half on Anubis. Danil "donk" Kryshkovets led Spirit at a 1.53 rating with 36 kills, and every Spirit player finished above 1.20. TYLOO, who had also lost 2-0 to FUT on day one, fall to 0-2 without reaching double digits in any of their four maps so far, and they never won consecutive rounds against Spirit. One more defeat ends their tournament.

The wider context is the race for PGL Major Singapore. Natus Vincere's opening-day 2-0 win over G2 — 13-11 on Nuke and 22-19 on Dust2 after a third overtime — earned 83 Valve Regional Standings points and lifted NAVI ten places into projected invite territory for Singapore, with the cut-off on 2 November. That win, reported on 25 October but played on day one, is background to Sunday, not a day-two result: NAVI's actual Round 2 test is the late fixture against FURIA, themselves 1-0 after beating DENDELE 2-0 on day one.

The tournament is a 16-team Swiss stage, with the playoffs scheduled from 29 to 31 October and a total prize pool of $1,250,000, topped by $400,000 for first place. Liquid's day-one 2-1 win over MOUZ came through Ancient 13-16, Inferno 16-12 and Mirage 13-11, a reminder that their day-two defeat to FUT was a step back rather than a collapse. The evening's remaining series will decide who joins FUT, Vitality and BetBoom in the 2-0 pool and who joins TYLOO in the 0-2 pool.
